Back Bone worked with the Handicare section of the FFVL on the development of a Free Flight chair for people with reduced mobility. For 12 years, we’ve continued to improve and introduce additional features based on feedback from our clients.

The Handivol flight chair is made of aeronautical steel (4130) to give it strength and lightness. The Handivol flight chair is available in a disc brake version for tandem use and especially for learning to fly solo.

The brakes are independent in order to be able to steer and a locking system makes it possible to use a parking brake.

To facilitate transport, the 2 rear wheels can be removed, locked by a push pin, the front wheel is locked by a secure saddle clamp, and the backrest folds up by also removing 2 push pins.

An articulation on the backrest of the harness locked by 2 push pins facilitates rotation and transport.

The front wheel axle is mounted with ball stops, new modified fuse, the wheel axle is mounted on ball bearings.
The front fork is cushioned by bungee cords, and in the event of a really hard landing, a fuse on the front wheel bends, in order to protect the rest of the chair. A spare fuse is delivered with the purchase as part of the spare accessories.
