Beginner paramotor trike course

Content
The objective of this 5-day training course is to make you discover in a safe and progressive way the basic basics of flying in paramotor; in order to bring you to autonomy by preparing for the pilot’s licence.
Course
Day 1 : Welcome, administrative formalities, presentation of equipment, shaping of the profile and control of the ground sail. , familiarization with the engine.
Day 2 : Simulation of take-off phases. Two-seater flight, with practice turns, and field approach. 1st solo flight with radio.
Day 3 : Simple flights, work on the take-off and landing phases.
Day 4 : Flight drills, U, S, 8 field trips.
Day 5 : Conduct flight drills and landings to gain range.
Every day, theoretical courses adapted to progress complete this training.

We provide you with all the technical equipment necessary for the flight, guaranteeing you comfort and security. We advise you to equip yourself with gloves and warm or windproof clothing (depending on the season) and high shoes.

You will discover an activity whose sensations are unique, in an exceptional environment. Nevertheless it is a sport very dependent on external parameters that we must respect with great humility. Our materials, our sites and our supervision are assets of qualities and success; your acceptance of our rules of practice will allow you to better appreciate the pleasure of this discovery.
The exceptional weather in our region makes it possible to insure all our courses, however, in the case of one or two days of bad weather, we will offer to postpone them, either at the end of the course, or later, but cannot be reimbursed.

This benefit is intended for any public aged at least 15 years (parental authorization for minors). Although the practice of the paramotor does not require a medical certificate of fitness, and in order to better appreciate the joys of the air, we advise you to be in good physical condition.
Throughout your apprenticeship, your instructor’s insurance covers you in Air RC. However, we advise you to take out additional individual accident insurance (possibility on site, 50€)

This 3-day course aims to make you discover to bring you to the passenger paramotor qualification safely and gradually.
Course
Day 1: Welcome, presentation of the training course, presentation of the equipment, assessment check, solo work on the take-off and landing phases related to the two-seater technique.
Day 2 : In-flight exercises, two-seater equipment presentation, passenger support.
Day 3 : acquisition of safety rules related to tandem flight, tandem flights to confirm achievements.

Instructor
Requirements for access to the instructor course
- Be 18 years old.
- Have achieved a satisfactory result in the assessment of theoretical knowledge organized by DCPS.
- Hold the ULM, paramotor class pilot licence for one year, or meet a proficiency level check by an authorized body.
- Have completed at least 100 flights (Statement of Honour)
- Holder of the passenger carriage class paramotor
- Have French Language Radio Qualification
- Have taken out insurance R.C.
- To satisfy the assessment by the authorised body of theoretical and practical knowledge, which will be specified in the progress booklet in the chapter “Report on the evaluation before the placement”.
- Possible upgrading of pilot knowledge.
- Satisfy, with its own equipment, a flight test defined by the training body and which will consist of 6 flights, the second being intended to check the correct correction of possible errors made during the first flight (with the exception of safety violations that will be eliminated on the first flight)

Square field from 100 to 200 m. according to the wind, at 150 m: Drift control, height maintenance, engine use, wing bank, axis maintenance after turns.
Slow flight level 150 m. mini, 50% brakes, wind face: Heading and Bearing, Engine Rpm, Safety % Brakes- Engine
PTS or PT8 facing the wind for descent on the plane: Wing tilt, keeping in cone stop 30 m. as finale
Level flight, facing the wind, 5 m. over 200 m : Level Maintenance, Engine Speed Roll Control-Attitude
Touch and go: * Airspace, descent control, fifth wheel exit, engine control- brakes, touchdown + or – 10 m target, return high arms go-around, axis control.
Failure in the cone mini 200 m vertical runway: Engine cut, airspace, evolves PTL, PTU, or PTS, precision + or – 20 m
Landing: Standing, Wing Subsidence Control, * Material Clearance
Debriefing: By the candidate, by the controller
Second flight: 30 to 60 minutes after the debriefing, this flight will focus on possible improperly performed exercises during the first flight.

Refresher Instructors
In 2019 the new Instructor Training Order requires a 2-day refresher course and a flight assessment within the year
- The two-day training course, mainly in the classroom, provides instructors with up-to-date information on:
a) Regulations, legal aspects related to the exercise of the training activity, as well as accidentology;
b) Human factors, threat and error management, and pedagogy;
c) Mechanics and maintenance of ULM. - A control flight
The control flight must enable the examiner to assess the instructor’s ability to deliver training in accordance with the required standards according to the level of technicality specific to each class.
Control flight: Class 1 paramotor
- Check flights shall be by appointment, in the year preceding the expiry of the validity of the instructor rating.
- The flights are preferably done with its own equipment, but possibility to rent the one of the school.
